You can transfer shares from another Demat account to Upstox by following these easy steps. 

Steps to Transfer Shares From Another Demat Account to Upstox

1Fill out the DIS slip. 
2In case the transfer is with the same depository, fill in a section called ‘Off Market.’  
3Submit the slip/ form to your current broker. 
4Post verification, the broker will forward the investor’s DIS form to the concerned Depository.

To transfer shares in offline mode:

Step 1: Once your demat account is opened, you will get a DIS (Delivery Instruction Slip).

Step 2: Fill out the DIS slip. 

Step 3: In case the transfer takes place in the same Depository, you need to fill in a section called ‘Off Market.’  

Step 4: Once done filling up and signing the DIS, you need to submit the slip/ form to your current broker. 

Step 5: The broker will verify the details entered and issue an acknowledgment receipt. He then forwards the investor’s DIS form to the concerned Depository. 

Step 6: The Depository transfers the requested shares from your current broker to the new broker after carrying out the necessary checks.

Please note that investors may have to pay fees to their current broker to transfer shares to another account. 

To transfer shares in online mode:

Step 1: You must visit the NSDL or CDSL platform and register yourself.

Step 2:  Once done registering successfully, you need to select a facility called ‘EASIEST.’ (EASIEST is Electronic Access to Securities Information and Execution of Secured Transactions).

Step 3: Then, you must provide your details. After filling in the form, you need to print the slip and give it to the Depository Participant. 

Step 4: The DP then verifies the form and forwards the information to the Depository. Finally, the Depository sends a confirmation email to the investor’s registered email ID.

Step 5: Finally, you can log in to NSDL or CDSL and independently transfer shares from one Demat account to another successfully.

Note: Brokers usually take about three to five working days to transfer shares from one Demat account to another.
